Abstract
eSTEM Morocco is a Moroccan nonprofit advancing STEAM education and digital inclusion for youth aged 8 to 18. From December 11 to 13, 2026, we are hosting the Morocco Social Impact Summit (MSIS) 2026 in Rabat, a first of its kind international summit expecting 3,000+ visitors, 18+ countries, 50+ exhibitors, 15+ speakers and 20+ workshops and conferences around social innovation, inclusion and impact investment. MoonDAO's own Chris Sembroski is a confirmed MSIS 2026 speaker, alongside Yasmine El Baggari, founder of Voyaj and an existing MoonDAO partner. We are asking MoonDAO for a $2,125 grant to help bring MSIS 2026 to life and to give MoonDAO a flagship stage and storytelling presence in front of thousands of changemakers across Morocco, Africa and the MENA region, extending its mission of advancing a permanent, self sustaining human presence on the Moon into a region it has not yet reached.
Problem
Social innovation ecosystems across Morocco and the wider MENA region rarely get a direct connection to global space and frontier tech movements. Young people, entrepreneurs and NGOs in the region have limited exposure to how communities like MoonDAO are opening up space exploration to everyday citizens, and MoonDAO in turn has limited visibility and citizen touchpoints in Africa and the Arab world. At the same time, MSIS 2026 still needs to close the last pieces of its production budget (media production, speaker hospitality, exhibition experience) to deliver a summit worthy of the 3,000+ attendees and 18+ countries it expects, and worthy of hosting Chris Sembroski.
Solution
We propose that MoonDAO fund a portion of MSIS 2026's production costs in exchange for a dedicated MoonDAO presence at the summit:
● Bring Chris Sembroski's story of spaceflight and problem solving into a flagship keynote/fireside conversation with Morocco's youth and social impact innovators, mirroring the model MoonDAO already funded with Voyaj in San Francisco.
● MoonDAO branding across the summit (stage backdrop, exhibition space signage, digital program) reaching 3,000+ visitors over three days.
● A dedicated MoonDAO presence throughout the summit: MoonDAO signage and a citizenship signup QR code displayed at the registration desk and exhibition area, plus a direct invitation to join MoonDAO shared during Chris Sembroski's keynote session.
● Media capture (photography, video, interviews) packaged into MoonDAO ready content for Discord and YouTube.
Event Format Highlights
● Keynote and fireside conversation with Chris Sembroski
● Panels and Q&A with youth, entrepreneurs and social impact leaders from 18+ countries
● Exhibition space (50+ exhibitors) where MoonDAO's mission can be showcased
● 20+ workshops and conferences on innovation, inclusion and impact
Benefits
For MoonDAO:
● Extends MoonDAO's mission of making space exploration relevant to all humanity into a new region, Morocco, Africa and the MENA area, it has not yet reached, growing the pool of people invested in and contributing to that mission.
● Piggybacks on a confirmed platform: Chris Sembroski is already booked as an MSIS 2026 speaker, so this is incremental reach rather than a from scratch production.
● Creates a direct citizen conversion opportunity: onboard summit attendees as new MoonDAO citizens through on site signage, the keynote shoutout and follow up outreach.
● Generates fresh storytelling content, photos, video and interviews, for MoonDAO's own channels.
● Aligns MoonDAO with credible, established partners: eSTEM Morocco and Yasmine El Baggari of Voyaj, already part of MoonDAO's network.
For eSTEM Morocco and MSIS 2026:
● Strengthens the summit's international, tech forward positioning ahead of December.
● Frees up budget for speaker hospitality, media production and exhibition experience.
● Connects Moroccan and MENA youth, entrepreneurs and NGOs directly with the space exploration and citizen science movement.
Risks
Budget constraints: $2,125 is a modest share of overall production costs. Mitigation: MSIS 2026 has other sponsorship and partnership revenue in progress covering the bulk of the budget; MoonDAO's contribution is earmarked for the specific line items below.
Timing: the summit takes place December 11 to 13, 2026, so MoonDAO's decision and fund transfer need enough lead time for planning. Mitigation: this proposal is submitted with roughly three months of runway before the event.
Audience mix: a large, multi day summit means MoonDAO's session competes with many other tracks. Mitigation: Chris Sembroski's session will be positioned as a flagship keynote/fireside in the main program, not a side track.
Citizen conversion: without a staffed MoonDAO booth, attendees may not complete signup on the spot. Mitigation: a QR code will be placed at high traffic points (registration, exhibition area) and Chris Sembroski will invite attendees to join during his keynote, with a follow up email sent to any attendees who expressed interest.
Objectives
Objective #1: Give MoonDAO a flagship presence at MSIS 2026 (Rabat, December 11 to 13, 2026) that extends its mission into Morocco, Africa and the MENA region. A dedicated MoonDAO presence throughout the summit, including branding and a citizenship signup pathway, reinforced by a direct call to action during Chris Sembroski's keynote.
Key Results for Objective #1:
● 3,000+ summit attendees exposed to MoonDAO branding and messaging across the three days.
● One flagship Chris Sembroski keynote/fireside conversation delivered.
● Onboard 10 summit attendees as new MoonDAO citizens via signage, a QR code at the registration desk, and a post event follow up email to interested attendees.
● Media assets produced: one recap video and a set of short clips and photos for MoonDAO's channels.
● Published content across MoonDAO's own Discord and YouTube channels.
