Abstract
We are creating a space-ready oral care system called AstrOnyx and testing it in analog astronaut missions while sharing it with the world.
Concept Overview
Astronauts need to brush their teeth too but space makes that harder
This project builds and tests a better way to do that while showing people on Earth how space innovation can improve everyday life
We will test the product in missions create content around it and launch it into retail so people can experience space driven health in real life
Problem Statement
Space missions especially long duration ones do not have efficient oral care systems that work in low water or microgravity environments
Most hygiene systems are built for Earth not for space
At the same time there is a disconnect between space innovation and everyday people
People do not see or feel how space technology impacts their lives
The Solution
AstrOnyx is a low water oral care system designed for space environments and tested through analog astronaut missions
This project focuses on three core areas
First testing
We deploy AstrOnyx in analog astronaut missions to test usability in confined environments EVA preparation and limited water conditions
Second storytelling and awareness
We document everything through video photos and educational content focused on oral care in space and human performance
Third real world deployment
We launch a retail pilot that brings astronaut tested oral care into physical stores creating a bridge between space innovation and human use
Retail becomes an extension of the mission
Not just a product but a system people can experience
Future direction includes expanding into longer duration testing partnerships and scaling distribution
