Abstract#

This proposal introduces an official MoonDAO-branded Wave card design, along with a short explainer video and a dedicated export page, that citizens can use with the Wave Connect platform.

Citizens will be able to visit a MoonDAO page, export their personalized card design, and upload it to their Wave card. When tapped or scanned, the card instantly shares their MoonDAO profile and relevant links.

The goal is to make MoonDAO citizenship easy to represent, easy to share, and easy to understand at real-world events, missions, meetups, and conferences.

Problem#

MoonDAO has strong online identity and tooling, but limited standardized tools for in-person (IRL) representation.

At IRL events:

• Citizens lack a fast, professional way to share their MoonDAO identity
• There is no clear, standardized way to represent or prove citizenship
• Explaining MoonDAO verbally is often time-consuming and inconsistent

Additionally:

• There is no single place where citizens can easily generate or export an official MoonDAO identity asset
• New citizens may not understand how to represent MoonDAO in real-world contexts

This creates friction for networking, onboarding, and MoonDAO’s visibility in physical spaces.

Solution#

Create a MoonDAO Wave Card system consisting of three core components:

1. Official MoonDAO Wave Card Design
   • A MoonDAO-branded design compatible with Wave Connect
   • Displays citizen details and MoonDAO identity
   • Uploadable directly to a citizen’s Wave card
2. Citizen Export Page
   • A MoonDAO-hosted page where citizens can:
     • Connect or identify their MoonDAO profile
     • Export a personalized Wave card design
     • Receive clear instructions on how to upload and use it with Wave
   • Acts as the single source of truth for MoonDAO IRL identity
3. Short Explainer Video
   • Demonstrates what the card is, how it works, and when to use it
   • Explains tapping, scanning, and sharing at IRL events
   • Used on the export page, onboarding flows, and community announcements

Using Wave Connect, citizens can:

• Tap via NFC or scan via QR
• Share a dynamic digital profile without apps required
• Update links without reissuing cards
• Use physical Wave cards that they own and manage themselves

Why Wave Connect:

• Proven NFC + QR platform
• Works on iOS and Android
• No MoonDAO hardware manufacturing or logistics
• Citizens retain ownership of their cards

Alternatives considered:

• Custom MoonDAO NFC cards (high cost, logistics heavy)
• QR-only solutions (less intuitive and less premium)

Wave provides the fastest and lowest-risk path to IRL adoption.

Future directions:

• Event-specific or mission-specific card variants
• Role or achievement badges
• Verified citizenship indicators
• Partner or sponsor-branded designs

Benefits#

For MoonDAO:

• Stronger and more consistent IRL presence
• Clear onboarding story for new citizens
• Standardized representation at events and missions
• Reusable assets (design, page, video) across initiatives

For Citizens:

• One place to export their official MoonDAO card
• One-tap way to share citizenship
• No need to explain MoonDAO verbally every time
• Clean, modern, professional identity tool

Revenue potential: This proposal does not directly generate revenue. However, it enables future opportunities such as:

• Event or mission-specific sponsored cards
• Premium or limited-edition designs
• Partnerships tied to IRL activations

Risks#

Low adoption

• Mitigation: Clear export flow, explainer video, and optional usage

Platform dependency on Wave Connect

• Mitigation: Profiles remain shareable via QR and links even without NFC hardware

Brand inconsistency

• Mitigation: Maintain a single official MoonDAO design and export flow

Overall risk is low due to no custody, no hardware ownership, and limited treasury exposure.

Objectives#

**Objective #1:**Launch an official MoonDAO Wave card system (design, export page, and explainer video) for IRL use by the end of Q3 2026.

• Explainer video released and embedded
• At least 25 citizens export and use their card within 90 days
