Abstract
Picture children with cancer drawing their biggest dreams and watching them soar into space on a rocket! The Unity Foundation invites MoonDAO to join a heartwarming the Art Rocket Project in Brazil, scheduled for September 6-19, 2025. This global humanitarian initiative combines space exploration, art therapy, and charity to support pediatric and adult oncology patients. By funding travel expenses for MoonDAO astronaut Eiman Jahangir, MoonDAO core team representative (Ryan or Pablo), research engineer, test subject, ambassador of Unity Anastasia Stepanova and media specialist Vartan Adzhemyan, MoonDAO can amplify its mission to democratize space access, significantly expand its citizen network in Latin America, and secure a spot on the Soyuz Art Rocket launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome in November 2025. Eiman’s dual expertise, combined with the team’s diverse skills in space science, public community work, and media, uniquely positions this group to inspire patients and promote MoonDAO’s vision, driving community engagement and growth. Problem
Kids and adults battling cancer often feel discouraged and need something joyful to lift their spirits and inspire big dreams. At the same time, MoonDAO wants to share its vision of making space open to everyone, but it faces challenges in gaining broader recognition. Some people have misconceptions about MoonDAO’s decentralized, token-based model, which can make it harder to build trust and attract new supporters. MoonDAO needs to shine a light on its mission through meaningful projects that show its commitment to real-world impact. By highlighting Eiman Jahangir, a cardio-oncology physician who realized his dream of spaceflight through MoonDAO’s Blue Origin NS-26 mission in August 2024, MoonDAO can show Brazil that it’s a genuine community making dreams come true. This will inspire Brazilian families, especially kids with cancer, to believe that anything is possible.
Solution
The Art Rocket Project brings the wonder of space and the joy of art together to support cancer patients in Brazil. From September 6-19, 2025, we’ll host art therapy workshops in three cities—Rio de Janeiro, Natal, and Brasília—for kids and adults with cancer. Our team includes Eiman Jahangir (MoonDAO astronaut and cardio-oncology physician), a MoonDAO core team representative (Ryan or Pablo), Anastasia Stepanova (research engineer, test subject, and Unity ambassador), Vartan Adzhemyan (media specialist), the Unity Foundation team from Russia: Alena Kuzmenko (President and Project Leader), Alexander Grebenkin (Roscosmos cosmonaut), Alexandra Veselova (artist), and Egenia Fadeeva (Executive Director) and the Brazilian team: Julio Rezende (CEO of space analog station Habitat Marte). Kids in oncology hospitals together with us will draw their dreams, and their artwork will be featured on a Soyuz rocket launching from Baikonur Cosmodrome in November 2025. We’ll work with the Brazilian Space Agency, Rio de Janeiro Planetarium, Habitat Marte Analogue Station, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), and local hospitals. Building on our Bolivia project (July 2025), which reached several million people through 95 media stories, we chose in-person workshops over virtual ones for deeper connections. We’re finalizing exact workshop locations with partners and expect 500+ participants. In the future, we hope to bring this project to more Latin American countries.
Benefits
- Spreads Hope: Brings joy and inspiration to 500+ cancer patients through art and space.
- Grows MoonDAO’s Community: Welcomes 50+ new citizens in Latin America by sharing Eiman’s story and MoonDAO’s mission, connecting with hospitals, universities, and media (target: 100+ stories, million reach).
- Builds Trust: Shows MoonDAO’s heart through a meaningful project, highlighting Eiman’s spaceflight as proof of its impact.
- Rocket Launch Spot: Offers one spot on the Soyuz Art Rocket launch as a prize for MoonDAO’s community raffle, sparking excitement.
Risks
- Travel Hiccups: Delays in flights or partner plans could affect our schedule. Solution: We’ll lock in arrangements by August 2025 and keep in touch with partners.
- Fewer Participants: Some patients might not join due to health challenges. Solution: We’ll work with hospitals for accessible venues and promote widely to reach 500+ people.
- Media Balance: Too much attention might overwhelm patients. Solution: Vartan will create gentle, patient-focused videos.
- Budget Concerns: Overspending could affect the project. Solution: The project lead will track funds in a multisig treasury and share weekly updates.
